Trend Introduces Unique 6¨ Industrial Diamond Taper File

Trend Routing Technology has introduced a new and unique industrial diamond taper file to the North American marketplace. ¨The new taper file solves many sharpening problems that simply can not be addressed with a flat surface diamond tool¨, stated James Barry, designer of the Trend Diamond Sharpening range. Barry continued, ¨By offering a tapered file that is half round on one side and flat on the other side, we have solved the problem of sharpening rounded surfaces. Further, because the file is tapered to a fine point, intricate sharpening can take place in hard to sharpen instruments such as turning and carving tools.¨ Barry also stated that the six inch length on the tapered diamond file combined with the concave and flat sides make this file a versatile sharpening tool that can be utilized in woodworking, gardening and domestic applications. Woodworking applications include maintaining and sharpening carbide tipped circular saw blades while positioned in the table saw. Further, Barry explained that new generation turning tools employ carbide tipped edges and the 6¨ diamond file is ideal for sharpening these tools. Gardening applications include the sharpening of pruners, sheers and axes while domestic applications include the sharpening of serrated knives, scissors and kitchen knives.

Trend employs a single structure monocrystalline diamond surface that will not break with use and it has a strong and exceptional life span. The monocrystalline diamonds are bonded to a precision ground pre-plated nickel carbon steel base through an electrolysis process. The monocrystalline diamond is 600 grit (25 micron) and is manufactured with a continuous diamond surface. Barry added, ¨The continuous surface combined with the 600 grit fine diamond allows the sharpener to employ light pressure on the tool. A razor edge will be achieved in seconds and the file and the sharpened tool will show little if any wear from the sharpening process.¨
