Profile Scribing

Profile Scribing

Profile Scribing
Traditional Pannelled door frames are made up of two vertical stiles and two horizontal rails. The inside edge of the stiles and rails are grooved to take the panel edge and the rail end tenon.

Router cutters are available to produce profile scribed joints, where the ends of the rails are cut to simultaneously form both the jointing tenon and the reverse of the stile edge moulding.

New Video
Our new video outlining the basic principle for producing Frame and Panel Doors with profile scribing and raised panel moulding cutters.

Router CuttersWe have a large selection of profile scribing cutters and panel cutters in both our Professional and CraftPro ranges. With standard combination sets the components are re-arranged on the arbor to cut either the profile or the scribe. Easyset (TM) profile scribe cutters are able to produce both parts of the joint by simply raising or lowering the height of the cutter. For door panels a selection of complementary raised panel mould cutters are also available.
