Scribing a Door

Scribing a Door
With the Guide Plate’s chisel tip profile it allows the EasyScribe to slip into tight gaps to strike a fine parallel line, perfect for scribing a fine joint line on a door, whether to cure a hinge bound situation from poor fitting or a build up of paint or to fit a new door into an opening.
Scribing a Door
For a hinge bound door the Guide Plate is slipped into the widest gap on the hinge side and the thumb wheel angle adjustment opened up enough to just engage the widest point of the gap.
Scribing a Door
Strike the mark down the entire length of the door to gain a parallel mark to the lining or jamb and then remove the door and its hinges.
Scribing a Door
Plane to the line and refit the hinges.
Scribing a Door
Rehang the door and check the fit which should now be parallel and uniform.
