AIR/PRO and powder coating

AIR/PRO and powder coating
Q - Can the Airshield Pro be used with powder coating ?.

A It depends on two things. One is level of protection specified by the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) ,and the second is that some paint powder can be explosive at certain concentrations. The powder manufacturer needs to be asked if the particular powder has any requirement for explosion proof equipment in its use.
If yes, then the AIR/PRO must not be used, if the answer is no, then depending on the MSDS for the powder, the AIR/PRO may be suitable. (If the MSDS recommend P2 with an APF of 20, then the AIR/PRO will be suitable). If the MSDS shows no explosion hazard and the AIR/PRO filtration will certainly cope with the particle size and wil be suitable. Additional tear off visor protectors and plenty of spare filters wil be required.

AIR/PRO and rat droppings

AIR/PRO and rat droppings
Q: Can the AIR/PRO be worn when sweeping up rat droppings?

A. The AIR/PRO unit will give the user protection against dust and mold spores. For the sweeping up we would recommend that the filters and head cover-face seal are both changed to stop any cross contamination afterwards.

AIR/PRO and sand blasting

AIR/PRO and sand blasting
  Q. Can the AIR/PRO be used for sand blasting?

A. Technically there is no reason why an AIR/PRO cannot be used for sandblasting, the filters and visors are up to it. The issues that would stop it being used are:-
1. Filter Life. Filter life could potentially be very short due to the potential excessive dust loading.
2. Noise. Dedicated blast helmets are always rubber coated.
3. Damage to the AIR/PRO. The blast media can be so aggressive, it destroys the plastic of the unit.
The AIR/PRO is not recommended for this use.

AIR/PRO and soot

AIR/PRO and soot
Q: Can I use the AIR/PRO when dealing with soot from a chimney?

A:Soot is burnt coal or coke (carbon) in particulate form and the AIR/PRO filters are suitable for this job.

AIR/PRO and use with pollen

AIR/PRO and use with pollen
Q - Can the Airshield pro be used with pollen ?.

A - Yes the Airshield Pro can be used with pollen, it will also be effective against the smell as the smell is attached to the particle as opposed to being a gas or vapour.

Air/Pro useage with Malt Dust

Air/Pro useage with Malt Dust
Q - Can the Air Pro be used with malt dust ?

A - The Air Pro can be used with malt dust from a respiratory perspective, however it is worth noting that malt grain dust will become explosive at around 100,000ppm (parts per million), whereby a Zone 2 ATEX rating would be required.
This would not be an issue if the unit is being used in an outside environment.

Airshield Visor Overlay Adhesive

Airshield Visor Overlay Adhesive
Q: I sometimes get some adhesive left on the visor of the Airshield when I remove the visor overlay, can I use white spirit to remove it?

A. Definitely do not use white spirit or anything similar as this will result in degrading of polycarbonate and reduction of protection level. Suggest only Isopropyl alcohol eg AIR/WIPES or the patient use of your thumb nail to clean off any residual adhesive from the overlays.
